Salted Dark Chocolate Macaroons

These salted dark chocolate macaroons are gluten-free and Paleo-friendly, so you can enjoy them. Theyre great for satisfying your sweet tooth while still following a strict diet.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup dairy-free dark chocolate chips
  • Sea salt flakes, for garnish

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350F 175C

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper

In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded coconut, melted coconut oil, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt

Mix well until thoroughly combined

Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, form the mixture into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown

Remove from the oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth

Dip the bottoms of each cooled macaroon into the melted chocolate, then place them back on the parchment paper

Drizzle the remaining melted chocolate over the tops of the macaroons and sprinkle with sea salt flakes

Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or in the refrigerator before serving
